McDermott D22 6 point cue and the highest model they made with points in the D series. I dont care much for the 23-26 models. This was one of my faves that I could never afford when I was a teenager. I retired way back when and dont play anymore. Beautiful cue from the 80s and it brings back the memories! Thats why youre looking right? A few small marks around the butt but nothing major. We searched the Internet and could not find a new one for sale. If you are a collector this could be your last chance to own a new P716/D22. Now to the details.. Highly figured Birds Eye Maple with 4 Birdseye points stained American Cherry. Each point is bordered with red, green, and black veneers. The sleeve is also Birdseye Maple with 4 windows with inlaid multi colored box designs just as they were on the original D-22. Matching sets of maple, faux ebony, recon ivory, and German Nickel Silver rings border the top and bottom of the sleeve. The wrap is black embossed leather and looks great on this cue. The joint is McDermott’s famous 3/8-10 wood to wood for a solid hit and is decorated with 2 more German Nickel Silver rings. The shaft has pro taper, 1 1/8 fibre ferrule, and 13 mm Triangle tip. Vintage McDermott D-22 Pool Cue with 6 points. Cue weighs 21 oz – butt is 17.4 oz – shaft is 3.6 oz. It is in original unrestored condition except that I just had a new black w/white speckled wrap professionally installed on it. The butt rolls straight and the shaft may have just a hair of lift in the center (many people would call it straight), nothing that would affect play. This cue has been used and has some dings and dents on it, please look at the pictures for the exact condition. I tried to show the major dings in the last 5 photos. It is a beautiful solid hitting cue. Please let me know if you have any questions or if you would like more pictures. This is a beautiful vintage McDermott D-22, one of their finest D models offered. I personally delivered it to McDermott in Menomonee Falls, WI to have refurbished. I have replaced the original butt plate with a new one as they often become chipped. I had the shaft that came with it, (close but not an original, refurbished and a new Everest tip) I also went the extra mile and had a brand new G-Core shaft made for it with a D-22 joint. Both shafts are 12.75 and the total weight is near 20 1/2 ounces. These g-core shafts with a custom D-22 joint are EXPENSIVE. The cue and two shafts are sealed in the packaging from McDermott and I’d prefer to keep it that way for the next owner. This is an awesome cue, no perceptible dents or dings that I have found on the pool cue, top or bottom half. It’s a work of art!
