Red D1 in very good-excellent comdition. Butt rolls straight, wrap is good, butt cap and butt joint collar in good condition. Very little wrong with this one at all. I would definitely say it has below the usual amount of marks from wear and use. Shaft is better than they usually are on these old D’s. It isn’t perfect but it’s pretty close. Vintage McDermott Pool Cue D-Series Experiment Cue Evan Clarke. 1980s D-series McDermott experimental weight-bolt pool cue made by Evan Clarke, the founder of Segen Cues. Custom 1 off prototype. Made with impregnated Maple. 3 ebony and recon ivory floating points. 18 ebony inlays on the sleeve. This cue was made by Evan Clarke when he worked for McDermott during the D series run. Before working for Schon and starting Segen Cues. It has an experimental long weight bolt that slides and screws into a metal tube. There are 2 sets of custom threads on the bolt. The bumper has been modified to mate perfectly with the aluminum bolt. This is definitely a specially made stick. It seems they were trying to tackle the problem of some cues being too bottom heavy. Also seems like they were adding weight, moving the balance point with whatever the bolt screws into. It’s a big metal tube that the bolt slides into maybe an inch or so. Overall the cue is in great condition. It does play different than a typical D series cue. The bolt weighs 1.4 oz. 12.65mm with original tip.
