McDermott Vintage Pool Cue 1995- Revival Series -RS-13AC American Cherry stain -Never Chalked- Masterpiece Joint -Rare-Amazing Cue -NOS. American Cherry stain on the crazy figured Maple forearm. The forearm is some of the gaudiest Maple I have ever seen on a pool cue. 4 points are Black Onyx with Ivory, Tulipwood and black veneers. The sleeve is very nice Ebony. 8 large intricate Tulipwood inlays with ivory diamonds. Metal and white index rings. I believe this to be among the first McDermott cue models to feature metal rings. Along with RS-11 and 12. This is the first model to have metal with white index rings. They still use them on their spendy cues. The bottom set of rings on the sleeve has some minor crazing in the finish. The butt sleeve has some minor storage scuffing lines on it. (Maybe will buff out) Otherwise, it’s a mint cue. This cue is highly collectible but would also make a fine everyday player. I’m very tempted to start playing with it. This is one of the last cues they engraved their logo on. This was made right before they started printing the logo. Without a weight bolt. I can add weight if you message me. Sticker says 21 oz. Irish Linen wrap- It is super tight and smooth. 12.75 mm never chalked original tip. This cue has the Masterpiece joint which is very rare. A lot of the cues with this joint have been converted to the modern quick release joint as that is the only way to have a new shaft. They do not match shafts to this joint anymore. No Ebony, Tulipwood or Ivory at McDermott anymore. Made in the U.

McDermott RS-13 Custom Classic Cue. A Real Classic, a Player. Butt weight- 15.30 oz. Shaft #1- 4.00 oz. 12.9 mm 29 Shaft #2- 3.90 oz. 12.8 mm 29 Predator 314 shaft- 3.70 oz. 12.75 mm 29 The balance points are all around 19 inches with each shaft, a bit less with the 314. Tips are Triangle at the best playing length. This cue has a filled-in chip in the finish on the butt sleeve which makes it not totally mint. The shafts have a little blueing. A professional cleaning would restore them to perfect. This cue has been played and well taken care of. As for the last 10 years or so, it has been in this sturdy case, under the pool table; retired. The butt sleeve has a nice, detailed inlay of tulipwood into recon ebony with recon ivory diamonds. The forearm is light walnut- stained Birdseye maple with 4 points within points of tulipwood, ebony, and ivory. The wrap is charcoal grey Irish linen with green specks. The rings at A and B are ebony, ivory, and silver. A tulipwood ring is added to those at D and E. This is a beautiful, strong- hitting player that is paired with a classy and sturdy, real leather, Cowboy-style case by Instroke made in the 1990s when, I believe, the craftsmanship was better. Cue and case are quality stuff. The joint is the McDermott Masterpiece stainless steel, reverse- piloted 5/16-14, which only McDermott makes, and which gives this cue its old-style metal to wood strong, controlled hit; the hit of the cue does make a tremendous difference. Play with a toothpick stick and it will let you down, and get you beat on a regular basis. You will learn to over stroke with a cue that doesnt have any ass in the hit. The old adage, it is the archer, not the arrow is only partially correct. I see and know a lot of real good players, and I do not know even one who plays with a poor quality, wimpy cue. A better-hitting cue will allow you to slow down and smooth out the pool stroke; this technique of a slower, more- relaxed stroke is much better, and really the bottom line of fine cueing, folks. The stainless steel- sleeved, Uni Loc joint that a lot of Predator cues feature is the reason why they are popular, along with the fad of laminated, low deflection shafts. The 314 shaft became popular due to the hit from the joint of the cue, not anything magical about the shaft. That concept is what is at work in this classy, retired McDermott of yesteryear. They dont make them like this, hardly at all, anymore. This cue is a great investment in your game, or maybe you are looking for this for your collection. Message me with any questions.
